Publishing books is the goal. I’m starting independently to see where this journey takes me; one story at a time. My first book, a novella titled Where’s Ronald?, is finally finished. It’s a fictional spin on a real-life event from my hometown of Estherville, Iowa, where someone stole the Ronald McDonald statue and kicked off a small-town mystery. I plan to release multiple books through Layla Cat Publishing, with my second title slated for a summer/fall 2026 release.

When Megan Hart is found dead in her own home after a late-night fall, her husband Daniel becomes the center of a case built on shadows, assumptions, and a detective's unshakable certainty.
In a Minneapolis courtroom, the prosecution paints him as a man pushed to the edge. The defense insists it was a tragic accident. And Daniel — grieving, fractured, and unable to remember every moment of that night — becomes the unreliable narrator of his own life.
As the trial unfolds, loyalties fracture, doubt spreads, and the truth slips further out of reach.
Taut, emotional, and relentlessly gripping, The Unseen Fall pulls readers into a world where memory falters, justice wavers, and the line between guilt and innocence is razor-thin.
Available fall 2026. Subscribe to the newsletter to receive the first three chapters free.
